15 Bible Verses to Comfort You During Infertility

[Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. You can read my full disclosure here.]

When I was going through infertility and would click around Pinterest, I would see all sorts of pins about Bible verses like these ones:

“11 Bible Verses for the Exhausted Mama”
“5 Bible Verses for the Weary Mom”
“Bible Verses for the Tired Mom”

I don’t doubt that mothers are exhausted…but are tired, weary, and exhausted not words to describe those going through infertility, too?

But for some reason, encouragement for infertility seemed to be fewer and farther between than encouragement for moms.

I decided to put together a list of my favorite Bible verses for those going through infertility and struggling with the emotions that come with it. I categorized them into 5: When you need hope, when the waiting is hard, when you need a reminder of what’s important, when you need a reminder that God is in control, and when you’re feeling jealous of others.

**I also just put these verses together as downloadable scripture cards! Check them out here!

When you need hope

But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.
Psalm 71:14, NIV

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31, NIV

When the waiting is hard

We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.
Romans 8:24-25, MSG

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s spirit is right alongside helping us along.
Romans 8:26, MSG

When you need a reminder of what’s most important

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
Acts 20:24, NIV

Therefore we do not lose heart, though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18, NIV

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Colossians 3:2, NIV

When you need a reminder that God is in control

The person who lives in right relationship with God does it by embracing what God arranges for him.
Galatians 3:11-12, MSG

Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5, NIV

You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need.
Philippians 4:18, MSG

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28, NIV

When you’re feeling jealous of others

Be good friends who love deeply, practice playing second fiddle.
Romans 12:10, MSG

So what’s the point of all this comparing and competing? You already have all you need.
1 Corinthians 4:7, MSG

And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there.
1 Corinthians 7:17, MSG

That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives.
Galatians 5:25, MSG
